How to Remove Ink Stains from Carpet

Things You'll Need

• Rubbing alcohol or hairspray
• White cotton rags (like a clean, plain T-shirt)
• Paper towels
• Fan

Instructions

1. Pour rubbing alcohol onto a white cotton rag. Never pour the alcohol directly onto the stain, and be careful not to oversaturate your rag.

2. Carefully blot the stain, being sure not to smear the ink. Don't rub the carpet, and don't apply strong pressure.

3. Change your cloth as often as needed, adding more alcohol each time. Work until no more ink is absorbed by the rag.

4. Place a fan close to where the stain was, which will help speed up the drying. This prevents any ink lodged below from wicking to the top.

5. An alternative to rubbing alcohol is hairspray. Use as directed above.
