How to Treat Baby Chapped Lips

  1. Step 1

Licking your lips can easily cause chapped lips so try to keep your baby or child from doing so. When you catch them in the act, apply some chap stick and try to keep them busy so they do not try to lick them.

  2. Step 2

Keep them clean. After your baby or child finishes eating or drinking be sure to keep their mouth clean. Wipe them down and then apply more chap stick if needed.

  3. Step 3

Consider your home's moisture. You might consider using a humidifier but be sure you keep it clean regularly and out of your baby's reach. The moisture in the air can make a world of difference for your baby's chapped lips.

  4. Step 4

Be prepared. Keep chap stick or lip balm in convenient places so you can apply it as often as needed. If your baby attends daycare you should be sure the facility is also aware so that the teacher can apply it as needed also.

Tips & Warnings
