How to Poach an Egg in the Microwave

If you don't have the time to poach an egg on the stove, you can do it in the microwave. Save time and still enjoy a delicious poached egg by following a few easy steps.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Gather your materials: a small microwave safe bowl, an egg, water and white vinegar.

  2. Step 2

    Fill up your bowl a little more than halfway with water (2 to 3 cups) and dash 1 to 2 tsp. of white vinegar into the water. The vinegar will help hold the shape of the egg.

  3. Step 3

    Crack your egg and and place it into the water.

  4. Step 4

    Pop the bowl in the microwave for about 60 to 80 seconds.

  5. Step 5

    Drain your poached egg from the bowl and enjoy!
