Things You'll Need:
- Frontline or Advantix
- Permethrin Pro
- Mower
- Hose End Sprayer

Step 1
One tick control method is to keep your vegetation short so the room for them to hide is dramatically reduced. If your pet has access to wooded areas or areas where overgrown vegetation exists, then you will need to limit their exposure during peak tick season. If you do not have enough time to do the yard work yourself then you should consider hiring a landscaper or gardener to do it for you. Not only will your residence look better but you will cut down on these pesky arachnids.

Step 2
Another tick control option for your pet is to purchase tick prevention medicines like Frontline or Advantix. Tick collars are a less messy option. It is vital that you keep your pet dry for at least 24 hours after applying sprays or capsules. The tick preventative medicines and collars are great methods but only work for one month and if they do not wash off soon after application.

Step 3
If you find that your pet still has ticks on them after you have mowed and applied tick preventative medicines then you can also take it a step further by applying tick chemicals to your property. There are several on the market that can be used inside and/or outside. Permethrin Pro is one option for treating both indoor and outdoor areas for tick infestation. If you have children then this is one product that is low odor and safe for your children.

Step 4
Inspect your home for cracks and crevices in which ticks may be hiding. Fill in these spots as soon as they are discovered and you may lessen the tick infestation. Washing your pet's bedding and treating the surrounding area is also a great method to control ticks. Tick products can be purchased online or at local stores.
