Wash your hands thoroughly with hot, soapy water. To kill most bacteria, you must wash your hands for at least 20 seconds and scrub, scrub, scrub.

Use the back of your hand to turn on the hand dryer on to avoid any possible contamination from the button that may have been touched by people who didn't wash their hands effectively. If it's an automatic dryer, so much the better. Hold your hands underneath the heat and rub together with a back-and-forth motion.

Rub your hands together until completely dry.

Try not to touch the door handle on the way out of the bathroom. This is the place with the most germs!
