Instructions

Before you begin your dog's bath, start by washing his face. As with people, no one likes to wash their face after having used the same water or washcloth to wash the rest of their body. So get your wash cloth wet and wipe your dogs face with it making sure his fur is wet enough for the shampoo to foam up. Now pour a small amount of shampoo on the washcloth and rub the cloth against itself in order to get the shampoo to foam up.

Now gently begin rubbing your dogs face with the washcloth. Make sure you don’t get too close to the eyes. Wash the top of his head and the outside of the ears with the washcloth as well.

    • 3

Once you have finished washing his face, ears and top of head, rinse the washcloth until no more soapy water comes from the cloth. Now, submerge the washcloth in the water and do not wring out the water. Immediately take it to your dog's face and begin slowing squeezing out the water over his snout and face. When rinsing his ears and the top of his head, make sure you wring out the water until it is not dripping but leave the cloth wet. Then wipe the top of his head and his ears to keep water from getting into his ears and into his eyes. Wipe until there is no more bubbles visible on the fur, rinsing the cloth as many times as it may take.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you don’t use too much shampoo. It is hard to get the shampoo out of thick coats so use it sparingly.

  • Do not try to hold your dogs face while washing it. This may make him afraid of you. You can use your other hand to guide his face to your soapy cloth but not to hold it in place while you “scrub.”
