Makeup can make you look and feel prettier, so how do you put the right color of foundation on your skin? Follow these steps to blend your makeup to match your skin tone in a no-fuss manner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foundation
  • Brush
  • Makeup sponge pad
  1. Step 1

Make sure you have the right foundation color for you. To do this, go to a makeup counter at a department store and ask one of the cosmetic workers if they will help you find the right foundation for you. The best way to know is to put a little dab of foundation along the jaw of your face and try to blend it in with either a sponge or your fingers.

  2. Step 2

Once you have gotten the right color, now you can try it at home. Before you put your foundation on your skin, remember to put primer on your skin so that the color will hold. The best way to blend the makeup to match your skin tone is to sit near a window where there is a lot of natural sunlight. The natural sunlight will help you see if your foundation is right for your skin and that you are either applying the right amount or too much or to little.

  3. Step 3

Once you situate yourself near the window, have a mirror handy so you can use a foundation brush to lightly start near your cheek bones and your nose and work your way out. If you have a blemish, you can pay attention to this area once more, after you are done applying the makeup to the rest of your face. Remember to blend your makeup with your jaw line and neck area. If you neglect to do this, your makeup will look horrible.

  4. Step 4

After you have put the makeup on your face, you can touch up rough areas lightly with a make up sponge or with your clean fingers. Then you can apply translucent powder to your face to create a nice glow.
