Purchase a lip liner and lipstick of the same color. If you have a certain red lipstick, make sure to buy the accompanying lip liner. You should also purchase a sheer lip gloss like Mac's translucent lip gloss to create a shimmery glossy look to your lips. Don't forget to have a lip brush handy. This will help you put the lip color to your lips.

After you have purchased your essential items, color in your lips with the lipstick of your choice with your lip brush. Do so lightly as you want the lip color to set on your lips, but not damage your lips.

After you have filed your lips with the lipstick of your choice, you can add definition to your lips by applying lip liner to your colored in lips. Be careful not to go outside your lip lines, if you do, you run the risk of looking like a clown.

After you have carefully lined your lips with the lip liner, you can top off the look by applying the sheer lip gloss. Don't put too much sheer lip gloss on your lips because you don't want your lips looking too goopy.
