Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eye shadow Eye liner Shadow brush
  1. Step 1

Eye makeup for the day is different than it is for the evening because day eye makeup should be lighter than it is for the night makeup. For evening eye makeup, make sure you select darker colors that compliment your eye color and skin tones. For example. Darker shades of brown, black, plum or great to use, as well as greens, purple and metallic colors. Make sure to first purchase a eye shadow palate for the night. Feel free to ask a makeup representative at ULTA or Sephora for some extra help.

  2. Step 2

After you have selected the eye make up you wish to wear, make sure to line your eyes in a darker eye liner, like black, brown, gray, or a dark shade of purple. It would be prudent to have your eyeliner match your eye shadow as close as possible. For example, if you choose to wear black eye shadow, line your eyes with black eye liner.

  3. Step 3

With your eye liner set in place, take a small brush specifically made for your eyes and wet it first with water. Wetting your brush will make the color of the eye makeup darker and richer. Shade in the eyelid part of your eye with the eye shadow of your choice.

  4. Step 4

After applying the color to your lid, you can start contouring a richer color in the crease of your eye. For example, you can put gray on your eye lid, but then use the black eye shadow to contour the crease of your eyelid. This will create a very dramatic and powerful effect for your evening eye makeup.
