How to Make Beef Tips

Things You'll Need

  • 2 lb. beef tips
  • 3 tbs. Worstershire sauce
  • 1 to 4 oz bottle your favorite steak sauce
  • One chopped onion
  • 2 tsp. liquid smoke
  • Medium non-stick skillet
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 cups water
  • Wooden spoon for stirring

Instructions

      Heat skillet and 2 tbsp.of oil on medium high heat. Add onions, Worstershire sauce and liquid smoke. Let onions absorb some of the sauce cooking in the skillet and then add the beef tips. Cook until beef tips are browned, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally so tips get brown on all sides.

      Once beef is brown, add remaining ingredients. Stir well and cover the skillet. Leave heat at medium high heat until juices begin to bubble well.

      Reduce heat to a simmer and allow to cook for two hours, watching closely to make sure they don't get low on liquid. If liquid gets low, add more water.

Tips & Warnings

  • As a serving suggestion, make egg noodles cooked in beef broth. Drain noodles and serve topped with beef tips and small amount of the juices.

  • Do not serve tips before they have cooked for at least two hours. They will be tough and not very appetizing.
