Turn a bra into a fashion statement. Most of us have an extra bra or two lurking in our lingerie drawer. Here's a fun way to make that B, C, D or even A cup into an uplifting style accessory. Read on to learn how to make a purse from a bra.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bra (underwire works best and C orD cups are even better)
  • Glue gun
  • Needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Beads, charms, embellishments or leftovers from your jewelry, scrapbooking or craft box
  1. Step 1

Trim back and side elastic from bra, leaving only cups and straps.

  2. Step 2

Using a hot glue gun, secure the bra cups together. Embellish the bottom of each cup with trim, lace or fabric to disguise uneven seams or glue, if necessary.

  3. Step 3

Now, glue together the bra's straps and fashion into a strap to wear over your wrist. Embellish with charms or matching lace or trim.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the inside and outside of the purse. Use found items like old buttons, patches, tassels and bits of ribbon and lace to create a unique, one of a kind item.

  5. Step 5

Secure Velcro inside the purse, on opposite sides. This way your purse will remain closed if you're carrying valuables.

Tips & Warnings
  • Embellishments, charms, fake fur, trims and tassels can be purchased inexpensively online from craft sellers on eBay.
  • Velcro can be purchased in single-stick pieces from the dollar store.
  • Ask your friends to donate their unused bras and you can make these for practically nothing.
  • These bras make great party favors for a wedding shower.
  • You can also create themed purses for Red Hatters or even Breast Cancer Awareness events (use plain white bras and decorate with pink ribbons and a matching pink strap).
