Skype has many features. The basic Skype account will allow you to make calls using your computer to anyone who is a Skype user. This takes about 10 or 15 minutes of time.

Things You’ll Need:

PC with windows
basic downloading skills

Step1

You need to go to Skype.com and select download. This will take you to another page where you will be prompted to download Skype.

Step2

Select download now for windows. The latest is Skype 3.8. After you have selected download now you will be prompted again.

Step3

Skypesetup.exe will pop up on your screen. You might need to adjust your cookie setting on you PC so the pop up comes up. You can set it to allow cookies under internet options (the privacy tab)

Step4

Select save file and choose where you would like to save the file.

Step5

Follow set up wizards prompts to finish the installation. You will need to select a screen name and a password.

Step6

After the installation has been completed. There will be an icon on your desktop. Click on the icon to open Skype. To Use Skype you may consider getting a headset with a mic this will allow you more privacy.

Tips & Warnings

In order to make calls to land lines and or cell phones you will need Skype Pro. It is very reasonable and with it you can make free calls to land lines and or cell phones.
There are many other features such as call recording (Pamela), games, and really to much to describe.
