Teaching a teleclass can be very lucrative, the hardest part is the marketing, but if you're creative, it's a great way to make money while you sleep! Teach something based on your expertise, and market your business at the same time.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A telephone
  • A conference line account
  • Paper and email flyers
  • Contact List
Step1
Teaching teleclasses are fast becoming a popular way for home businesses (as well as bricks and mortar's) to make money. If you know how to do something well, and are willing to share the information with others, it's a great way to make money. First you have to decide what valuable information you have to share, and who your target audience is.
Step2
If you are a plumber, teach a teleclass on what your customers can do to fix a minor leak, or how to prevent leaks, etc. The class can be very short and will give potential clients a chance to get to know you and they will remember you when they need a plumber.
Step3
If you are an advertising company, hold a short teleclass that gives adverising tips, and explain your services. Teleclasses can be offered for free as a way to attract more clients. You can record the teleclass and put it on your website.
Step4
I often do business coaching teleclasses. With the price of gas these days, and everyone's busy schedules, teleclasses are a great way to conveniently get information without losing travel time and gas costs. These are benefits that you can emphasize when marketing your own teleclass.
Step5
Decide how to market the class. Do an email blast or make a flyer, describe the class content, the cost, how to pay you, include a PayPal link possibly, and the date and time of the class. Don't forget to put what time zone the class is in! Market to your current customers and post the clas on your website.
Step6
In marketing the class you can post flyers, post the class on free internet sites such as CraigsList, BackPage.com, Domestic Sale.com, etc. Ask friends and family to forward on your e-flyer and offer them some kind of incentive. Promise participants a full set of notes before the class, and a bonus handout after the teleclass. Send this info along with the call in number and password once they send payment for registration.
Step7
Set up an account with a teleconference company. Some companies require reservations, while some will give you a number, password and moderator code that you can use anytime you wish without notice. Many of these accounts are free, and participants just have to pay the regular long distance costs. Encourage them to use skype so the call is free. Record the call, which most conference companies offer as a free service so you can post the teleclass to your website and make money in the future from the class. You also can email the audio file to your particpants as a bonus.
Step8
Once the teleclass is completed, send your participants a thank you, the bonus information and a promotion for your next teleclass. Teleclasses are a convenient way to make money. The only hard part is the marketing, but if you have a website or a blog, it makes it a little easier. Setting up an account with a conference call company is also very easy and usually takes less than a minute. Do a search for conference calls on the internet to find a company.
