How to Cast a Glamour Spell

Glamour spells are somewhat common among many of those in the Wicca religion. In fact there are several glamour and beauty spells all with slightly different uses and reasons, one of which is to look beautiful to others or lend the power of the beauty to others who may need it.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl of spring water
• Herbs for beauty (catnip or lavender)
• White rose without a stem
• Mirror

Instructions

1. As with many other spells there are a few recommendations that go along with performing the glamour and beauty spell. It is suggested that you perform it during a full moon, but the religion believes a waxing moon is also sufficient. Another thing you should consider is taking a bath for purification to "clean the slate" of your body and allow the magic you are about to perform to start completely anew.

2. Being calm and centered will of course help you during this spell and that is what you want to do first. After that make sure you are facing west in the room you have chosen. While facing west you will hold up the bowl of spring water over your head and say,

   "I hail to the west and the forces of water. Hear and aid me in this magic tonight. Grant me your beauty, shape and form this face and body and let me radiate with self-love. With harm to none, and for the free will of all, so mote it be."

3. Bring the bowl of water down and set it directly in front of you. You will then pick up the white stem-less rose and place it in the water so that it is floating. Take your fingers and begin to stir the water in the bowl three times around in a clockwise motion. When finished you will take the flower out, holding it while chanting,

   "By the powers of the west, the forces of water, I charge this flower with love. Beauty is here, it shines with the power. Beauty is here, contained in this flower." With harm to none, and for the free will of all, so mote it be."

4. Saying that final phrase will almost be the end of your spell. Lastly you will need to find a box that you may keep the rose in or something else safe. You will need to place the herb (catnip or lavender) along with it. This is meant for you to keep and remind you of your true beauty. You can also give the rose to others and tell them of the rose you have blessed. The magic will show through immediately to them if they allow themselves to see.

5. Casting glamour spells can change greatly from this one above. Others take over the course of a week or seven days to complete, and these often deal with teas, ginger, primrose, Venus oil and candles. Different spells work for different types of people; it all depends on your level and your beliefs, so be sure to learn as much as you can!

Tips & Warnings

• Burn incense during the casting of the spell. It isn't required but it will help to calm your mood and improve concentration.

• You always want to make sure you know what you are doing and you have researched Wicca and casting spells thoroughly before diving in headfirst!
