As the gas prices rise, most of us are looking to save money somewhere. Here are ways to save money on laundry and dry cleaning.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Everyone can save a little money, and it's easy to save money on laundry & dry cleaning but depending on how serious you are about it, will depend on how much you save. At the Laundromat, instead of using the single washing machines, look into using the double or triple washers. You can save as much as .50 cents to $1.00 a load.

  2. Step 2
    Dryel kit

For dry cleaning, you can actually clean those special clothes using a dryer and Dryel. After you buy the initial kit (sold in supermarkets), you will only have to refill the moist towelettes. This will save you money on dry cleaning!

  3. Step 3
Assign family members a towel color

Use bath towels more then once. Hang them up to dry and assign family members each their own by color. This will save energy, laundry detergent and change at the Laundromat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't overfill washers, the clothes won't get clean and your purpose will be defeated.
  • Don't overfill dryers as it will take so much longer to dry.
  • Dryel also comes with a stain remover kit for your dry cleaning items.
  • Dryel is great for cleaning delicate dry cleaning clothes, but you will still have to press some of them.
  • If you immediately hang those items on a hanger from the dryer, it will save time pressing.
