Things You'll Need:
- Friends! (you need allot of connections)
- Social Skills, be able to persuade and gain anyones trust or friendship. ::::Optional::::
- A couple of bucks to start out with, 50-100$ should work.
- Merchandise you don't need to sell
-
Step 1
There's allot of different ways to hustle, I'll separate them into two groups: illegal and legal. Am not going to teach you how to push drugs or any other illegal skills, mainly because i don't want to promote crime, this worlds bad enough as it is. Instead am going to teach you how to make quick money legally, buying and selling merchandise such as electronics.
First locate your merchandise. This means listen, there has to be someone who doesn't need his/her old ipod/sidekick etc.
Ask, hey what happened to your old phone? If they respond saying they don't want or need it, tell them: "I'll buy it from you" or "I could sell it for you" -
Step 2
Discuss the price: IF he's your friend why doesn't he give to you for a lower price? If he doesn't need it theres no reason in selling it for a high price: it's used!!. Talk the price down, this is where your social skills comes in.
"I'm a Hustla I can sell Salt To an Slug", verse by Cassidy -
Step 3
BEFORE you buy the merchandise you have to keep in mind, will you be able to sell it? If you buy it for too much, when you increase the price so you make a profit, it may be too high and thus lower the interest of your customers. Also it should be merchandise that you can sell in general, it's pretty damn hard selling a Motorola RAZR now, when compared to the much more desired Sidekick(s).
If you can, find a Customer Before you Buy or even find the merchandise!
I often tell people who complain that they need a phone that I could get them a sidekick for a good price, we negotiate a price but i always leave them with a "my friends selling it for over 100, but I can try to lower it for you." This is a social/psychological trick, I may find the merchandise for less than that price but I'll sell it for 100$ and they'll be content because they'll feel like THEY found a CHEAP product, also by saying I'll try to lower the price for them and making them think I did, I've built trust with them, which is great since i may do business with them again. -
Step 4
Once you have your costumer or you know you'll find one, buy your merchandise.
-
Step 5
If you haven't by now found a costumer look for one. Once you do, begin the transaction, at times it can seem like a debate or even a battle, the price without a doubt should always be more that what you payed for, but it should also be reasonable, remember you are selling a used product on the "Street" so the product should cost typically 25% or more, less than what it's going for in stores.
If the customers offering you a price that you don't like but is still profit, tell them you won't sell it to them yet because you have other customers that want your product(regardless if it's true or not) and after you talk to your other customers if you still have the product you'll probably sell it to them for their price. What this does it keep your customer, you never know when you may need the money and but can't find someone who wants to buy it, also they might get scared of loosing their chance of getting that product and give in, to your price.
You should always offer your product to multiple customers when they refuse to pay your optimum price, this way you find and choose the most profitable transaction. -
Step 6
Complete the transaction, sell your product. And repeat these step at your own pace.
