Instructions

    • 1

Take a steel wool pad along the baseboards, window sills, light socket covers and everywhere else paint has splattered. A simple scrape or two will take a lot of the splatters off without a lot of effort.

    • 2

Spot clean the carpet, furniture and other fabrics on which the paint has dripped by using a high quality spot stain remover.

    • 3

Scrape paint off tile floors, bathroom fixtures and metal with a paint scraper after the paint has dried.

    • 4

Texturize the walls if the paint is uneven and splotchy with a sea sponge and four parts liquid glaze mixed with one part of a complimentary color. This is only needed in the worse case scenarios and can make blotchy paint jobs appear as if you wanted them that way.

    • 5

Hang lots of large pictures, artwork, drapery and other displays to hide the really bad spots. You can also rearrange your furniture to place the tallest items in front of the worst spots.

Tips & Warnings

  • If paint droppings are really bad along the baseboards and ceiling, you may have to repaint them, either in the color they once were or, to make things easier, in the same color as the wall.

  • Next time consider hiring those costly professionals.

  • Don't hire that same sloppy paint friend for other home projects.
