Drawing a cartoon elephant is fun and easy. Even beginners can do it. All you need is to be able to draw a few simple shapes. These steps will show you how to draw a cute, cuddly cartoon elephant that only takes minuets to draw.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

    Draw a large oval for the body and a smaller oval for the head.

  2. Step 2

    Draw a smaller circle with a flat top for an ear. Add a long tube that gets smaller at the end for a trunk and a dot for an eye. Add a little flap under the trunk for a lip.

  3. Step 3
     

    Draw rectangles for legs. Make sure to draw the legs that are farther away from the viewer smaller.

  4. Step 4
     

    Add details, such as the texture of the skin, and be sure to erase any overlapping marks.

  5. Step 5
     

    Add color and shading, especially if the elephant is going to be in a scene with overhanging trees or other objects.

Tips & Warnings
  • Most animals can be drawn with simple shapes.
  • Make sure to erase all of your overlapping marks.
