Even if we’re blessed with the career of our dreams there is always an aspect that we find tedious. The world of fashion design is no different. For every exciting and inspired design sketched, there is the same old model or body that has to be drawn first. Retracing the fashion sketch will make the job easier and provide more time and energy to spend on perfecting the actual design. Read on to learn how to retrace fashion sketches.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Perfecting the model. Start by perfecting your “model.” Once the desired pose and angles are achieved and drawn on regular sketch paper you are going to trace it for quick replicating.

  2. Step 2

Tracing the fashion. Place the tracing paper squarely over top of the model you have just drawn and trace it. You are transferring the model image from the sketch paper onto the trace paper.

  3. Step 3

Finalize the sketch. Set the original sketched paper aside and prep a new blank paper. Turn the tracing paper over so that the sketched side is facing down and lay in on the new blank page in the desired position. Now you are ready to transfer the image from the tracing paper to the new sketch paper. Repeat the tracing step, taking care not to press so hard that you put indentations in your paper, but firmly enough that you get a good transfer.
