Replacing your factory oem radio with an aftermarket din or double din radio.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Make sure you purchase a dash kit, wire harness and antenna adaptor for this vehcile. Harness price will depend if this vehicle is equipt with the factory Bose system or Onstar system.
Step1
Unsnap and remove dash bezel.
Step2
Remove (3) 9/32" screws securing radio.
Step3
Remove radio and unplug antenna and harness.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press and secure e-brake and turn ignition switch to the on position without starting vehicle and put vehicle in gear, prior to removing dash bezel.
  • If a regular inexpsensive harness is used you must run your own accessory wire, for the radio you are installing, to the fuse box or accessory wire at the ignition harness since this vehicle doesn't use an accessory wire to turn the oem radio "on". This oem radio turns "on" by means of data. Also, the factory door chime will be disabled when removing the factory radio unless you purchase a specific harness/module to maitain it working.
