How to Use the Glowing Edges Filter in Adobe Photoshop

1. 

   First, open Adobe Photoshop and your digital images. We will begin with a floral image. Generally speaking, the more texture in your original piece, the more dramatic your results will be.

   Go to Filters and then to Stylize and Glowing Edges. Apply to the entire shot.

3. 

   Here is a picture of a chandelier a photographer took. Beautiful on its own, an image like this is perfect for the Glowing Edges filter, as the main focus is clear and there is no background noise to distract from the lines.

4. 

   Another way to use Glowing Edges is to simply apply it to a portion of the image. For this image, we are going to isolate the angel by outlining it with the magnetic lasso. We then go to Select and Inverse to select the background we want to apply the filter to.

   We apply the Glowing Edges filter here to give the photo a more dramatic look.

6. 

   Finally, if you want to have some fun with classic images like the Mona Lisa, simply download a copy of the image from the internet, open it in Photoshop and apply the Glowing Edges filter. This will give a more modern look to a classic painting. Cool!
