Holding your girl's hand

Your girl is sweet, funny and cute, and you are dying to hold her hand. Rather than just grabbing her palm and mashing it into yours, use a little finesse to hold a girl's hand. The first word of advice is to make sure you know her well enough to hold her hand, so it's best not to try this on total strangers.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick a situation that is conducive to hand holding. Good times include while you're walking through a carnival or on the beach or sitting next to each other on the subway or at a movie theater. Bad times include while you both are trying to juggle oranges.

    • 2

Make sure your hand is free of dirt, grime and debris. Likewise, make sure her hand is free to hold yours and she's not petting a dog or clutching her pocketbook with the hand you want to hold.

    • 3

Place your hand on the girl's shoulder and give it a gentle squeeze.

    • 4

Run your fingers down her arm, from her shoulder to her wrist.

    • 5

Grasp her hand in a firm yet gentle manner. Leave your fingers together or intertwine them with hers, depending on what feels more natural and her hand's reaction. If she looks up at you, smile. If she pulls her hand away and screams, find a different girlfriend.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some people just don't like hand holding. Don't get offended if she tells you that, and don't try to hold her hand.

  • Enhance the hand-holding experience even further by saying, "I love holding your hand," or "You have such wonderful skin; I love to touch it."

  • You can hold hands with gloves on, but it will be less intimate.

  • Don't hold her hand too tight or clutch it like you are holding on for dear life.

  • If she needs to use her hand, such as to pay a cashier, let her hand go.
