1. Take time to get the know the girl and her friends before you ask her out on a romantic date. Romantic relationships that start as friendships first are more likely to last.

2. Ask her what she is interested in and really listen to her answer. Let her do the talking.

3. Learn all you can about what she likes to do and see if you are interested in it, too. For example, if she really likes jazz music, listen to it and learn the names of some of the artists and songs.
