Salmon is one of those fishes that can be prepared in many different ways, all of them delicious. One of the most popular ways to grill salmon is by barbecuing it over a hot grill. These short and easy steps will show you how to prepare and cook a tasty barbecued salmon treat for dinner.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Filet of salmon
  • BBQ sauce of choice
  • Gas or charcoal grill
  • Metal spatula
  • Large plate
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Basting brush
  • Basting cup
  1. Step 1

    Get the supplies. Your local food store will have all the supplies that you need to make this delicious barbecued dish.

  2. Step 2

    Heat up your gas grill on medium-high heat and close the cover; allow it to heat for 10 to 15 minutes before grilling. If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to become ashen and gray before grilling.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare the fish. Lay the fish out on a plate and add desired amount of salt and pepper for seasoning.

  4. Step 4

    Grill the fish. Place the fish on the grill and close grill for 8 to 10 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Baste the fish. Open the grill and baste the fish with desired amount of BBQ sauce. Open grill for 2 to 4 minutes.

  6. Step 6

    Close the grill and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes. Allow to cool for several minutes Serve and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add the BBQ sauce a few minutes before removing the salmon from the grill for the best taste.
  • Always wash your hands after handling raw fish.
