How to get FREE INTERNET with your LINKSYS WRT54GL v1.1 Router PART IV

After the first three parts, it's on to part four!

Things You’ll Need:

• Computer
• Ethernet Cable
• Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 router

1. Open an internet browser and bring up your Local IP Address as determined in Part II. It may be 10.0.0.1.
2. DD-WRT Virtual Interface Click on Wireless. Again, enter the username and password. If they have not been changed, they will still be:
   
   Username: root
   Password: admin
   
   You should now be on the Basic Settings Tab.
   
   On the bottom half of the screen, it should see Virtual Interface.
   
   Click on the Add Button.
   
   Choose a name, any name and enter it in the Wirless Network Name (SSID) block.
   
   Click on Save Settings.
3. DD-WRT Site Survey Now, Click on Status and then Wireless. You can now perform a Site Survey by clicking on the button.
4. DD-WRT Available Networks An extra window will popup. It will contain the various wireless networks that are in your area. In the fourth column from the right, you will see a category called Open. If it states Yes, you can click on join. If it says No, then trying to join is futile. Try the different networks to see which ones will give you the fastest connection speed.
