This is important because it helps you to build an affiliate network of information that site users will use to research and learn about your content. Referrals from other sites is really important.

The second free way to increase traffic to your website using blogs is to write articles on your site and in your blog that you know a lot about, and which you can tie to the content or products on your site. You then want to share these with people on a blog network. If you already have a blog on your site, then you can network with other bloggers that write about the same things you write about to help build up that research network we talked about in step one. If you do not have a blog or a website, you can still simply create a blog and network with other bloggers. Use a free blog site, or free blogging software such as word press and add a blog to your site.

Once you have written your article or created your blog, the third way you can increase your site traffic using a blog is to participate in what is called a blog carnival. A blog carnival is basically a bunch of blogs that discuss a certain topic, and provide users with a whole bunch of information about that single topic, or numerous topics. Bloggers then submit articles and content to these blog carnivals and as people view their stuff, they can increase their readership and links back to their own website, or blog site.

The fourth way to increase site traffic using blogs it make sure that you are tagging as many relevant blog posts and entries as you can. Tags are labels used to make it easier to find blog posts, photos, and videos, that are all similar. A tag is a simple category name that you can use to categorize your posts. Make sure you tag all of your own blog entries and posts you leave on other sites.
