Things You'll Need:
- A bat approved for fast pitch use
-
Step 1
Grip the bat with your hands close together. Keep your hands tucked in close to your body.
-
Step 2
Place your feet shoulder width apart. Transfer your weight to the balls of your feet.
-
Step 3
When the ball is pitched, bring the bat around, keeping your hands tucked close to your body. The swing in softball is shorter than a baseball swing.
-
Step 4
While swinging the bat, turn your shoulders and hips toward the pitcher. Your front foot should remain stationary, but your back foot should swivel. At the end of the pitch, your body will be facing the pitcher.
