Fall soccer leagues form at different times during the year, most frequently in the spring. Read on for tips on how to get yourself signed up for one of the most popular sports in the US.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look for information in your child's school materials. Schools often send home information about local leagues. While these are mainly for children, you can often find a link off of their site to an adult league, too.

  2. Step 2

Fill out the necessary information using the league's choice. You'll often find it's a website, but it could be an actual paper form. You'll need to provide medical information, emergency contacts and agree to a hold harmless agreement that protects the league from any legal action due to accidents or injuries.

  3. Step 3

Volunteer. Most leagues run using volunteers as coaches, equipment managers or statisticians. See what you can do to help the league if you've got time. Most often you'll get a discount on your entry fee for volunteering.

  4. Step 4

State your practice days. If you know you can't go on Mondays, make sure to let the league knows that Mondays are out as a practice day. Most leagues generate this information on their site using a standard form that you click on, but you may need to email the administrator or just fill it out on the form.

  5. Step 5

Request a friend or coach. If you know of a good friend who's playing too, most leagues will allow you to request up to one or two friends with whom to play. Similarly, if you want to be assigned a specific coach, make your request. Most leagues generate this information on their site using a standard form where you fill in a blank, but you may need to email the administrator or just fill it out on the form. Be aware that if the league drafts players, you're likely out of luck with this option.

  6. Step 6

Pay. Using a check for paper forms or a credit card for an online secure site, make payment for your league fees.

  7. Step 7

Wait for notification. Fall leagues are often not notified until just before the league play starts, so be patient and spend the summer getting ready to play!
