How to Clean a Narrow Neck Decanter Without Leaving Water Spots

This is a brief idea on the best way to clean out the inside of a narrow necked decanter

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dirty decanter
  • mild dish soap
  • warm water
  • long wooden spoon
  • heavy duty paper towel

Step1
Fill your kitchen sink with warm soapy water.
Step2
Dunk the decanter into the water. It should fill up with water completely.
Step3
Take decanter out of water, only leaving about a 2 inches of water inside the decanter.
Step4
Shake around the soapy water inside until all visible stains are gone.
Step5
Rinse decanted completely in fresh water.
Step6
Make a small ball from the heavy duty paper towels.
Step7
Insert the paper towel ball inside the bottle and allow the excess water to be absorbed.
Step8
use the end of you wooden spoon to poke around inside the decanter. Push the paper towels around until the all the water is absorbed.
Step9
Use the spoon end to pull out the damp paper towels.
Step10
Set decanter aside to air dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • You might want to repeat the process if you decanter is unusually dirty.
  • Do not use to many paper towels. You have to be able to pull them out once finished.
