Step 1
Consult the SummerStage schedule. Celebrating its 23rd season, Summer Stage offers a wide range of free, outdoor concerts in Central Park. The festival lasts from mid-June until mid-August, so you are sure to find a concert that fits your schedule. Events are listed on the SummerStage website, below.
-
Step 2
Look at outdoor movie listings. Several venues, including Bryant Park and IFC, screen outdoor movies during the summer. Consult the websites (some of which are listed below) for a listing of these.
-
Step 3
Consult general New York City events calendars. One great place to find year-round events listings is the New York Magazine website (listed below). From the main page, click on the down arrow next to "Entertainment" to access the search function.
-
Step 4
Use the MTA website. The Metropolitan Transit Authority gives information about several getaways and events in New York City and beyond, all accessible by public transportation. To access this information, click on "Destinations, Deals, and Getaways" in the "Program" box on the main MTA page.
