they're no big deal. until you catch them on something. trouble is, you catch them on everything.your hair, your cloths. every time you use your hands, little jabs of pain remind you of their presence. where do hangnails come from? those annoying little triangular splits of skin around the fingernails are nothing more then dead skin. the skin in the area, which does not contain a good supply of oil to begin with, simply dries out.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • nailclip,sterilized scissors,warm water, alpha-keri oil.

Step1
mix 4 capful of the alpha-keri oil to 1 pint warm water and soak your fingertips in it for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step2
then clip hangnail do not pull the cuticle back you will only make the matter worse. and possibly get it infected.
Step3
if you are still having problems here is another solution. try rubbing an emollient cream or ointment on the affected finger at bed time and wrap it in a piece of plastic wrap secure the end with a bit of tape. the plastic will keep the moisture in overnite.just be sure to remove the plastic in the morning you wouldn't want to keep it on too long.

Tips & Warnings

  • what ever you do don't pick on your hangnails. and be sure to moisturize often to prevent hangnails in the first place. or try to make it a habit to rub olive oil or safflower oil into your cuticles to help prevent hangnails.
  • remember the worse thing you can do to a hangnail is to torture it. do not pull back the cuticle and do not try and bite it off.
