  • Diet Journal
  1. Step 1

Start monitoring the ADD behaviors. Record these in your diet journal. Is the behavior after a specific meal? Did you notice that it frequently occurs during a specific time of day? All of these factors can influence ADD behaviors.

  2. Step 2

Begin administering focus supplements. Whole foods stores have a great range of supplements for ADD, ADHD diagnosis. Other supplements that have been shown to be beneficial are gingko biloba, st. Johns wort and vitamin B. Most focus supplements will include all these herbs.

  3. Step 3

Get enough sleep. Make sure that no caffeine or sugar is given to the ADD individual after 3pm. Lack of sleep has been linked to lack of focus, low grades and low standardized test scores.

  4. Step 4

Make diet changes. Have you noticed any ADD behaviors specific to the time of day or food served? If so eliminate foods you found to increase these behaviors. Make sure the ADD individual is eating a balanced diet. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables and lean meats.
