Paying top dollar for someone else to mow your lawn is ridiculous. That is what it takes though to get that professional looking cut. Well not anymore. Here are step by step instructions on how to make your yard look like 300 dollars.
Walk around your yard before you even get on the mower. Pick up all sticks, garbage, and debris. Dispose of garbage and other non burnable items in the garbage or recycle bin. You can burn the sticks or put them in a yard waste container and put them at the curb for the garbage man.
Step2
Check the oil and gas in your mower and make sure the blade is sharp. If the blade needs to be sharpened you can take it to most hardware shops and they will do it for around $3- $5. Make sure the mower deck is free of dirt and grass. This will help the cut look better.
Step3
Making those professional lines is not as hard as it looks. Start at the edge of your yard and go straight down to the other side. Once you get there turn right back around. You want to place the wheel of your mower on the path that you just mowed. Repeat this action until all the grass is cut. If you have obstructions in your yard like trees or bushes go around them. When doing this you must go around in the direction of your next line.
Step4
Mowing is done now so get your weed whacker out. Weed whack around your house, flower or rock beds, gardens, trees, etc.
Step5
Use your blower or broom and clear away grass from the driveway, sidewalks, and landscape. If your grass was long and clumps were left behind when you mowed then use your blower to spread them out. If you don’t have a blower you can use a rake.
Tips & Warnings
Clean the blade and deck of your mower with hose when done. This will make it easier next time.
Keep all kids away from mower.
Use caution when operating mower and weed whacker.
