Grill Lemon Pepper Shrimp

Grilled pepper shrimp is a very delicious appetizer that can serve many people. This particular recipe serves around 12 people as an appetizer and around 5-6 as a main dish in a meal.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 pounds extra-large shrimp, still in shells
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Lemon wedges
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced.
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  1. Step 1

First, you want to rinse and drain the shrimp. You should also devein them, using a knife to cut a slit down the back of each. Remove the dark vein down the middle.

  2. Step 2

Combine lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, and paprika in a large bowl.

  3. Step 3

Next, add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat.

  4. Step 4

Cover the bowl and let marinate for either 2 hours (room temperature) to up to 8 hours (in fridge). Mix occasionally.

  5. Step 5

Prepare your grill and begin grilling the shrimp. You'll need to turn them frequently and can continue to baste them with the mix as well using a brush. You'll know they're done when they look turn pink (see picture) or have kind of clear/opaque look to them. On medium/high flame, this should only take about 5-10 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Serve warm with lemon wedges and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • This recipe is still good if you leave out the garlic cloves. We've tried it both ways, and I know some people don't like garlic as much.
