Although the talent segment of a beauty pageant competition is not itself the way to winning a crown, a contestant can definitely use this part of the competition for her advantage. In the end the contestant who wins this part of the competition is the one who makes the least mistakes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Practice until you are able to perform without making any mistakes. Practice does make perfect.

  2. Step 2

Eliminate nervousness by visualizing the magnitude of your performance. More than one contestant has mastered her performance to perfection, only to have her nerves get a hold of her the night of competition. Visualize the size of the room, the audience and also the judges in front of you. Knowing you will be in front of hundred, thousands or millions can help you grasp what you are in for. The notion of all of these people looking at you rather make you nervous, should make you feel proud of your accomplishment.

  3. Step 3

Concentrate on your performance. This way if any distraction occurs, you will be sufficiently engaged in your performance to make any mistakes. In turn the audience will be so attentive to you; they will not notice a distraction.

  4. Step 4

Know that anything that can go wrong will. If you make a mistake, do not become upset. Continue with your performance. The show most go on and maybe you will be the only who notices you made a mistake.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to visit the stage beforehand. This will give you a sense of the room, lights and floor conditions you will be performing in.
  • Practice in front of a mirror in order to combat stage fright.
