How to Determine if a Garden Gets Full Sun
Planning your landscape is much easier when you know how many hours of sun an area receives each day. Plants are usually clearly marked as to how many hours of sun they require.

There is no real science to it. On a nice sunny day, count the hours of sunshine the garden or planting area receives.

If the area receives more than 6 hours of sun per day, it is considered FULL SUN.
If the area receives 3 to 6 hours of sun per day, it is considered PARTIAL SUN.
If the area receives less than 3 hours of sun per day, it is considered SHADE.

Read the tag and choose plants appropriate for the planting area.
