Step 1
Have in mind a platform, a particular cause you want to raise awareness of, or phrases that you may want to use. You won’t have ample time to answer questions the press may ask you, so having a message you want to convey to the public will help. A reporter will not necessarily try to make you look good; you have to do that for yourself.

Step 2
Miss Florida Latina 2007 contestants being interviewed at Orlando's Chanel 13Never say anything negative about another contestant or the pageant system. If you are asked for gossip and give it to them, this information will reflect negatively upon you. Think of something innocent enough to say, that will be taken lightly.
-
Step 3
Talk positive about yourself. Mention your achievements, involvements with the community and any volunteer or charity work you may have done. Judges love choosing a contestant who generous and has a kind heart.

Step 4

Step 5
A beauty queen is not part of the problem, but part of the solution. If you have any problems in your life or during the pageant, work them out at home or behind the scenes. A reporter is not obligated to use everything you say, and may just report a careless statement you made thus reflecting negatively upon you.
