Beer is not just for drinking any more. Adding beer can really spruce up the flavor in foods...especially bread! Because the alcohol is released during cooking...this recipe can be a winner with any taste palate, regardless of age! This recipe will show you how to make beer bread without the fuss of a bread machine.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cups of self rising flour
  • 12 oz bottle of beer, room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    In a large bowl, mix flour, beer and sugar, just until it forms a dough.

  3. Step 3

    Turn into a greased 5 x 9" loaf pan, cover with foil.

  4. Step 4

    Bake 50 minutes, remove foil, brush top with melted butter.

  5. Step 5

    Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until top is lightly brown.

  6. Step 6

    Let stand for 10 minutes before removing from pan.
