Step 1
Grasp the ball tightly with your fingers once it touches your hand and you catch it. The fingers enable you to control the football.

Swing one end of the football under your armpit. Protect that end of the football from defenders trying to knock the ball out your grasp.

Position the other end of the football between your middle and pointing fingers. If the football is tucked into your left armpit, use your left hand. If the football is tucked into your right armpit, use your right hand.

Apply pressure to the end of the football with your hand, pulling it forcefully into your armpit. Grip the football tight,for a snug fit. Create a protective cradle that reduces the chances of a fumble.

Run for more yards after the catch and the ball is tucked away and stable.
