Step 1
Get yourself into a wheelie position in your wheelchair by leaning back and controlling the wheels with your hands.
-
Step 2
Establish your balance before attempting to rock in a wheelchair wheelie.
-
Step 3
Start counting to 20 as you practice your wheelies, attempting to extend the time that you are able to balance up in the wheelie position. By constantly moving the wheels back and forth just a little with your hands, you should find this fairly easy to do.
-
Step 4
Add the rock to your wheelie as you're in the wheelchair by moving the wheels back and forth more, shifting the weight between your back and your legs.
-
Step 5
Make sure you move the wheels at the same time with each hand so you don't start spinning around in circles. This will help you as you do rock in a wheelchair wheelie.
-
Step 6
Practice the rock in a wheel chair wheelie over and over. You will find that there is a "sweet spot" where it seems natural for you to balance, and where adding the rock to your wheelie seems very easy to do.
