Step 1
Check the veneer frames for blemishes as you shop. You may not consider the little off areas as blemishes, which makes it a little easier to find what you like.
-
Step 2
Notice that pieces of the veneer meet in a splice as they come together. The reason for this is that some veneer, particularly that of the Padauk tree, come off in small sheets. These sheets come together at the ends to make a longer sheet.
-
Step 3
Consider that people dye the long sheet together in one color. This makes spliced areas show up in random places on the veneer. The spliced area may not show up unless the light hits it—you simply have to be aware of it.
-
Step 4
Buy matching veneer picture frame sections wherever you find framing supplies. Generally, this is in a frame or craft store. With these helpful supplies, you can easily make your own picture frames.
-
Step 5
Match the coloring in the veneer frame to your current decorating style and/or the subject of the picture.
-
Step 6
Make your own frame, if you have the skills, out of veneer strips and wood.
