EP Scheduling provides a breakdown sheet for each scene and prompts entry of all the scene's elements. Once a scene is input into EP Scheduling, one glance at the scene's breakdown sheet shows you everything you need to successfully shoot that scene, including date, location, time of day, set requirements, cast and extras required, vehicles required, security, music, visual effects and more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Click on the "New Sheet" icon, the very first icon in the options icons at the top of the EP Scheduling screen. This brings up a new breakdown sheet.

  2. Step 2

Enter the requested scene logistical information in the EP Scheduling information boxes at the top of the screen. For example enter "2" in the "Sheet" and the "Scene" boxes to indicate that this is second breakdown sheet for the second scene in the script. Choose "Int" or "Ext" depending on whether this scene takes place inside (Int) or outside (Ext).

  3. Step 3

Continue entering the information for Set, Day/Night and Pages, which asks for the number of physical pages the scene covers and the number of eighth pages the scene covers.

  4. Step 4

Enter a quick scene summary in the Synopsis box.

  5. Step 5

Decide on and enter the scene shooting information. Enter the scene's page number from the script and the day the scene will be shot (enter "1" if shooting this scene on the first day of shooting, "2" if this scene is scheduled for the second day of shooting).

  6. Step 6

Complete the rest of the requested scene information at the top of the EP Scheduling screen.

  7. Step 7

Click on the first entry in the list of entries shown under the heading "Elements" in the lower half of the EP Scheduling screen, which is "Cast Members." Select "Breakdown" from the list of EP Scheduling options at the top of the screen. Click on "Element Quick Entry" in the drop-down menu.

  8. Step 8

Enter the first cast member into the "Element" entry space and click "New" to add that cast member to the "Elements List" in the lower half of the box. For example, enter "Man" and click "New" as this is the first occurrence of "Man" in the script.

  9. Step 9

Continue entering cast members until you have listed every cast member required by the scene.

  10. Step 10

Follow the above procedure for the rest of the script elements listed under the "Elements" heading in the lower half of the EP Scheduling screen.
