Maintaining your motorcycle engine is important both to the life of the motorcycle and your safety as a rider. Normal maintenance should include routinely checking and replacing the manifold. After this is done, you will need to reconnect the horn and choke.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Finish replacing the manifold and make sure everything is reconnected correctly thus far. It is important to double-check yourself at each step to avoid having to disassemble the motorcycle again.

  2. Step 2

Reinstall the backplate. Gather the horn pieces for reinstallation.

  3. Step 3

Notice where the star washer goes--outside the motor, on the side opposite the carburetor. Just under the ridge, toward the top center of the two cams, are some grooves. The star washer must fit up into the grooves. There is a knob. You want the knob to push in only with force. If it pushes in, tighten the nut with a wrench. Do this carefully, as it could break easily. This is how to reconnect the choke.

  4. Step 4

Connect the wires to the back of the horn and place the wire holder over the projecting screw. Use a nut to hold the horn on the screw. Tighten it to finger tight first, then tighten down with a wrench.
