Things You'll Need:
- Shop towel or rag
- Toolbox
-
Step 1
Use a clean shop towel or rag to wipe down all of your tools. Remove any resin from the drill, tips and bridges. Resin hardens when exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun, making it difficult to remove.
-
Step 2
Make sure the caps on the resins are tightly closed. This prevents the resin from leaking and prevents sunlight from hardening it.
-
Step 3
Scrape hardened resin off your tools with a razor blade, taking care not to scratch your tools.
-
Step 4
Dispose of used razor blades and used carbide tips. They are inexpensive, so use new ones next time you need to do a repair.
-
Step 5
Keep all of your windshield repair tools, resins and patches in one toolbox. Choose a small box that is easy to carry so you can take it with you if you have to do a repair away from home.
-
Step 6
Store your toolbox in an area that is dry and protected from the elements, such as your garage.
