Step 1
Start practicing doing flip tricks by focusing on the landing. The landing is the most important part. Not only will a proper landing keep the board from breaking, it will allow you, as Kevin Wilson states, to roll away smoothly (see Resources).
-
Step 2
Begin by flipping the board by hand. Drop the board and make it flip in the air before it lands.
-
Step 3
Time yourself to jump up while the board is still in the air, flipping after you drop it, then land with both feet on the bolts.
-
Step 4
Do this several times until you get the timing down, making sure you land with your feet in the proper position each time.
-
Step 5
Work on stopping the flip and landing on the board while the board is still in the air. If you land on the board after the board has completed its flip and landed, the impact will be greater, plus there's a better chance of you losing your balance and falling off the board altogether.
