The sounds of a multi-rig synthesizer set can deepen any musical experience. Its vast range of sounds can take any song to newer and better places. But before you can dive into the deepness of synthesizer sound, you you need component levels that work together. These few steps will show you how.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two synthesizers
  • Multi-rig stand
  1. Step 1

Practice the parts you plan on playing individually. This will help you determine what settings you want to use, which is important to do before step 2.

  2. Step 2

Determine how loud your individual keyboards are. Not only are different keyboards loaded with different options, but they also have their own unique sound levels--some may be much louder than others.

  3. Step 3

Play one keyboard (preferably your quietest one) and get it to a level that seems appropriately loud enough. Remember that if you plan on playing both synthesizers at once, the sound will become significantly louder.

  4. Step 4

Match the sound level of the second keyboard to the first. You can go back and forth between the two keyboards if that helps, but you should be able to guess an approximate level.

  5. Step 5

Test the two keyboards together. As with any instrument, checking to see if everything works together is a key step before you begin playing. One sound should not drown out the other, and it shouldn't create a muddy or deafening sound.
