Christmas is a great time to set out many beautiful decorations. One of the most popular Christmas decorations are the nutcrackers. Nutcrackers come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They add a very special touch during the holidays. However, when the holidays are over, you must pack your nutcrackers away for safe keeping until next year. Here are some tips on how to pack nutcrackers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep the original boxes that the nutcrackers came in. These are the best boxes to store the nutcrackers in because they are the proper shape and size. Be sure to also keep the packing foam because that will give your nutcrackers extra protection while in the box.

  2. Step 2

Use storage boxes that are large enough to hold your nutcrackers if you do not have the original boxes. Shoe boxes, plastic boxes, or other sturdy boxes work best.

  3. Step 3

Put plastic cups over the nutcracker's head. This will prevent the head or hat from breaking off. Wrap each one of your nutcrackers in paper towels, toilet paper, or in cloth. This will protect them from banging against one another and breaking while in the box.

  4. Step 4

Pack them tightly together so that they do not roll around inside the box. If more than one nutcracker will not fit into a box, then surround the packed nutcracker with packing popcorn, more paper towels, toilet paper or cloth. You do not want them to roll around.

  5. Step 5

Place them in a safe storage place. Do not stack other things on top of them. This will prevent them from getting smashed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Label the boxes as to which nutcracker is in the box. This will allow for easier identification when you are ready to unpack them again.
