Step 1
Consider your background and props. You want to make sure that you don't have too much going on that would take the focus off you, the main attraction. Keep your set fairly simple and take some cues from other jugglers.
-
Step 2
Designate a place for all your props, such as a bag or box. If you really want to be a professional, consider buying or making a prop table with places to store all of your juggling implements.
-
Step 3
Examine the lighting situation ahead of time if the event is being held indoors. Ensure that the overhead lighting won't be shining right into your eyes, which can almost guarantee that you'll be dropping things as you're blinded by the light.
-
Step 4
Adjust where you are standing if the lighting is going to be a problem. Or talk with the technician in charge of lighting and request different lighting during your performance.
-
Step 5
Position yourself so that you're not looking directly into the sun when performing outdoors. Make sure the sun is either behind you or to your right or left. If you want to turn to the side so the audience can get a different view, turn away from the sun.
-
Step 6
Look for uneven ceiling heights or obstructions that might affect your performance when performing inside.
