If you have mastered the three-ball pattern, your next challenge will be to incorporate a fourth ball. To successfully juggle this many balls, you will need to balance low and high throws into your pattern. This difficult maneuver requires a great deal of practice. However, it is a crowd pleaser and has many variations on this foundation pattern.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Four juggling balls
  1. Step 1

Begin with your normal three-ball rotation. Attempt to start a pattern stack where you have balls going at high, medium and low heights. This is a good basis to start a four-ball rotation.

  2. Step 2

Have a partner hand or throw you a fourth ball without stopping. If you can't get a partner, just stop and start again with four balls. By having a partner help, you can maintain the rhythm and momentum you gained from the three-ball trick.

  3. Step 3

Throw all four balls at separate heights: low, middle, high and higher. The most difficult aspect of this is to make sure all four balls fall at the same time. This allows you to stay in pattern and maintain a solid rhythm.

  4. Step 4

Try different heights until you find the heights that work best for your juggling routine.

  5. Step 5

Experiment with different ways of handling the balls. Instead of throwing two and two in each hand, try passing the balls between hands for a challenge.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a very difficult trick. If you haven't completely mastered three-ball juggling, it will basically be impossible to combine low and high throws to juggle four balls. Don't be afraid to start over and get a great feel for three-ball juggling if you are having difficulty with managing four balls at once.
  • Always practice in an open space where you are not at risk of hitting others or breaking anything. A large park or gymnasium are always excellent choices.
