Barbu is a French word that means, according to Joe Andrews, King of Hearts. It is a card game that is similar to Hearts, which first appeared in the United States in the 1960s. Like Hearts, the players try to keep the other players from winning by giving them the "bad" cards. This eHow can help you learn how to collude with other players while playing Barbu, attempting to win yourself.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep track of the score sheet as you play Barbu. Because you can see everyone's scores as you play Barbu, you can keep track of everyone's score, and thus figure out when to collude with other players to keep the best player from winning.

  2. Step 2

Collude with the other players in Barbu. If one of the players has a lead, work with other players to give that player high cards, such as the king of hearts.

  3. Step 3

Switch your attention to another player if someone else begins to get the best score.

  4. Step 4

Pay attention to each hand. By being aware of what is played, you are better able to decide your strategy as you work on colluding with other players in Barbu.

  5. Step 5

Work on getting a high score yourself as you keep track of everyone else's score. While still colluding with others to keep someone else from winning, attempt to get the highest score in the 28 hands of Barbu.
